THE MISSION AND STATUTES OF IN IUSTITIA
In IUSTITIA, o.p.s. (a benevolent association) was established with a view to making issues of bias violence (hate violence) a subject of debate among professionals and the general public, providing legal aid to victims or witnesses of violent incidents, optimizing the public administration’s practices (with respect to freedom of assembly and criminal proceedings), and working in partnership with other organizations in the field and with the media.
The current mission of In IUSTITIA is to ensure social services, legal information, and legal representation for individuals affected by bias violence and to prevent bias violence and expressions of intolerance, especially racism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, homophobia and transphobia, gender violence, and violence on the basis of age, health status, social status or subcultural membership. Furthermore, In IUSTITIA ensures social services and legal information for especially vulnerable victims and women without shelter (at risk of homelessness) who are at risk of violence or have become victims of any violence. In addition to ensuring services, our mission is also to educate professionals and the general public, conduct research benefiting victims of crime, and last but not least, comprehensively monitor and analyze bias violence throughout the Czech Republic.
Equality, dignity, and fundamental human rights are guaranteed to all. In IUSTITIA is involved in their real-life exercise. Bias violence violates the principles of a democratic society, and therefore: “No one should be attacked for whom they are.”
In IUSTITIA was established as a civic association on 9 February 2009 and transformed into a benevolent association on 18 December 2013. Formation deed of the benevolent association – download here. Statutes of the civic association – download here.
